  • 2 x Abacus Scholarships Worth 70% or 40% of Tuition Fees
Awarded to students with good academic records and/or noteworthy personal achievements
  • 2 x Abacus Bursaries Worth 70% or 40% of Tuition Fees
Awarded to students who would struggle to achieve 5 GCSEs in traditional secondary schools

Applying for Scholarship or Bursary Awards

Students should submit an application indicating that they wish to be considered for a Scholarship, a Bursary or both.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and/or noteworthy personal achievement (usually in sport or music). Students applying for Scholarships must provide academic transcripts from their current school and evidence to support their personal achievements, e.g. music grading certificates.

Bursaries are awarded based on the personal circumstances of the student. They are awarded to students who would benefit most from the supportive environment and small tutorial group teaching used at Abacus College; that is, students who would probably fail to achieve their academic potential in standard secondary schooling.

Students whose parents would prefer they went to private school but cannot afford the fees are welcome to apply. To apply for a Bursary, students must provide academic transcripts from their current school and a letter from their parents, an education agent or their current Headteacher outlining why they would benefit from attending a private tutorial college and describing their current educational, personal or financial challenges.

All students applying for Scholarship or Bursary awards will be considered for The Principal’s Award.

Students must apply for Scholarship or Bursary awards before the deadline of Friday 16th June 2017. Award winners will be notified by Friday 23rd June 2017 and must accept their offer by paying their deposit by Friday 30th June 2017; otherwise their award will be offered to another student.
