IGCSE

The IGCSE Options are:

  • A two year course, commencing in September
  • A five term course, commencing in January
  • A one year course of five subjects, commencing in September
  • Individual subjects combined with A Levels

Students taking the two year or five term IGCSE programme will study the following subjects:

Compulsory Core

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Science (at least one subject from list below)
  • Humanity (at least one subject from list below)
  • Modern Foreign Language or Art (at least one subject from list below)

Additional subjects may be taken from the lists below up to a maximum of eight subjects.

Sciences

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Combined Science (single award)
    Co-Ordinated Science (double award)
  • Information Technology

Humanities

  • English Literature
  • History
  • Geography
  • Business Studies

Modern Foreign Language and Art

  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • Mandarin
  • Art

In addition, all students will be allocated a Personal Tutor and will participate in:

  • Tutorial Time
  • Personal, Social and Health Education
  • Physical Education

For the two year and five term programmes, academic English Language support will be offered as part of the course for those students who need it.

Students who wish to take the one year course will take English, Mathematics and Science plus two other subjects. Minimum age requirement is 15 and students should have a level of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.
