Personal Tutors
Abacus students come from all over the world and for many this is their first time away from home. We take Pastoral Care extremely seriously. As soon as they arrive, each student is introduced to his or her Personal Academic Tutor. This is a teacher who will spend time with the student on a regular basis, overseeing their academic studies and helping them to settle into the college.
The Personal Academic Tutor is a key point of contact for parents and agents, and reports to the Principal regularly. He or she is responsible for delivering the college’s programme of Personal, Social and Health Education, and helps the student to develop his or her Life Skills ready for making the transition to Higher Education at university in due course.
